Established in 2006 Scream have secured a reputation for showcasing emerging London-based and international artists that have a strong emphasis on colour, skill and visual impact. Whilst we collaborate with artists that experiment with a variety of different media, there is an emphasis on the process and high level of production that results in a very distinct identity for the gallery. Although Scream presents a diverse range of works including neon lights, found metal, advertising signs, stickers, ceramics and silk embroidery the artists create an engaging dialogue with the shared aesthetic of bold, bright, high-impact works. These dynamic works have a strong Pop sensibility and working with artists across the globe we have acquired a broad universal appeal with a strong international client base.
Owned by Jamie Wood, son of Ronnie Wood (Rolling Stones), the gallery has benefitted from the endorsement and support from London’s high-profile art collectors. Having re-located to Fitzrovia last year, Scream is a key destination in this vibrant, contemporary arts hub and has established itself as an integral part of the London art scene. Following celebrated exhibitions by Ye Hongxing, Pakpoom Silaphan and Chris Bracey to name a few, press coverage has been exceptional, including BBC London News and website, ITV London Tonight, Financial Times, The Independent, GQ, Style and Elle Magazine. Scream have recently partnered with British fashion designer Matthew Williamson on a two-person exhibition featuring Caroline Jane Harris and Shane McAdams to create a fusion of art and fashion providing a unique context to promote our artists. Furthering our international presence Scream have successfully developed our global profile by participating in Art Stage Singapore, India Art Fair, Scope New York and Scope Basel amongst others.
Fitzrovia - an area known historically for its artist communities - has in recent years become home to many cutting edge galleries and is a new and expanding hub for visual arts in London. Fitzrovia Lates will see over 20 galleries in the area, including Scream, open until 9pm on the last Thursday of every month.
