Marcus James

Thirty-one year old Marcus James was raised in the West Country by artistic parents. They encouraged him to study life drawing from an early age, which developed his draughtmanship and artistic awareness. Marcus moved to London in 1993 attending Central Saint Martins and graduated with a BA in Illustration.

He then went on to receive an MA in Illustration from the Royal College of Art, where he studied life drawing and anatomy in the morgue at the University Hospital.  These studies were the basis for an exhibition and book called “The Anatomy Room, The Drawing Studio, and The Beach”.

Marcus currently runs his own print studio where he concentrates on fine art projects and print design. Print design includes collaborations with Chloe, Yves Saint Laurent, and Camilla Staerk, Ozwald Boateng, 20 Million Fragments, Beams and Silas.

Ongoing projects include Rug designs for the Rug Company, interior products for themselves and artwork for a new screen print series The Dark and The Light.
